I first came to work for our Village in the late 1990s, as Skokie’s first Director of Marketing and Communications.
In this role, I kept residents informed about Village news, connected them with valuable resources and showcased everything Skokie has to offer to attract new businesses and residents.
I came to love Skokie so much that my husband and I decided to move here to raise our family. I continued working for the Village until 2023, when I retired after 25 years of service.
Along the way, I became more actively involved in our community. I was elected to the Oakton College Board of Trustees and took on leadership roles in a number of local nonprofits, community-based organizations, and regional associations. I became an instructor at Northern Illinois University's Civic Leadership Academy, where I’ve taught community engagement, media relations, and crisis communications for many years.
Each of these experiences has made me truly grateful to be a part of this diverse community and fueled my excitement for all we can achieve together.

01
AMPLIFYING NEW VOICES
We will invite, hear, and consider new voices and opinions, uniting to address key community issues and drive meaningful change and growth for everyone.
02
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
We will bring economic development support and incentives to Downtown and neighborhood retail districts while we strengthen and expand all key industries essential to Skokie’s economy.
03
A PROACTIVE APPROACH
Skokie has become reactive.
By welcoming new voices, reallocating resources, and finding common ground, we will transform Skokie into a proactive model community.

WHAT SETS ME APART
As Skokie’s only candidate for mayor with a master’s degree in public administration and decades of local government and nonprofit experience, I know how to get things done. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to lead local and regional initiatives in a wide variety of policy areas.
The Village of Skokie will now be divided into four geographic districts, each represented by one trustee elected by district voters, while two trustees will continue to be elected at-large.
This marks a shift from previous elections, where all six trustees were chosen at-large.

WHY I'M RUNNING

Skokie has so much to be proud of – great schools, an amazing park district, a state-of-the-art library, vibrant local businesses and impactful nonprofit organizations – but in recent years Village leadership has let us down, making poor financial decisions, failing to address growing problems and not listening to the community it serves.
I am running for mayor because Skokie residents deserve better. We need a strong, seasoned leader for our next chapter who will add more seats to the table, get Village Hall to listen, and take action. I have a proven track record throughout my career of bringing people with diverse perspectives together to identify opportunities and solve problems that strengthen our community. I know that together, we can build on what makes our Skokie great.
